A Discourse on Structural Integrity: Beyond the Dichotomy of Good and Evil

Junho Jung

Humanity has long equated "Good" with sublimity and "Evil" with depravity. This duality serves as the bedrock of the moral order constructed over millennia. However, this dichotomy overlooks a decisive fact: it is not the "content" of Good or Evil, but the "Pure Integrity" of the human vessel holding them that determines the quality of an act.

The Neutrality of Content and the Integrity of the Vessel

Good and Evil are, in essence, grand currents of energy and mere polarities opposing one another within a system. Just as light and darkness possess equivalent physical quantities, altruistic deeds and malicious acts share the same aggregate volume of will and execution force exerted by the individual.

The issue lies in the vessel containing that energy. If the vessel is strong, whether it conducts good or evil, it traces a consistent trajectory of "sublimity." For an entity that clearly recognizes its own essence and assumes 100% responsibility for the consequences, the labels of good and evil are irrelevant. They do not excuse their choices, nor do they deflect blame onto external circumstances. Conversely, a vessel with weak structural integrity fails to bear the weight of its chosen values, leading to "system overload." The byproduct of this collapse is "meanness" and "high entrophy".

Why We Are Obsessed with the Asymmetric Evaluation of Good and Evil

Why does society vilify the despicable villain while willfully defending the despicable saint, and why does it praise the sublime saint while thoroughly shunning the sublime villain? This asymmetry stems not from moral truth, but from the public’s "logic of survival."

  • Despicable Villain vs. Despicable Saint: The despicable villains exploit and torment others, suddenly change their tune and apologize for their actions, thereby causing high entropy. In contrast, the despicable saint hides behind the mask of “goodwill,” allowing his betrayal and cowardice to be dismissed as “unavoidable circumstances.” Since the masses lack structural agency and are composed of “potential despicable saints” capable of betraying at any moment, criticizing such individuals is tantamount to self-denial; thus, they defend and support them.

  • Sublime Saint vs. Sublime Villain: The sublime saint provides the masses with a sense of relief by sacrificing their own values to maintain the system. The sublime villain, however, is different. They exploit and manipulate others with pure malice and shameless audacity. The masses instinctively sense that these figures possess a sense of agency far superior to their own and feel fear. Consequently, they attempt to resolve this cognitive dissonance by denying the existence of sublime villain.

The Proliferation of High Entropy: The Essence of Meanness

The essence of meanness does not lie in the "content" of the act. Meanness is a "state of self-deception," where an individual indulges in values their vessel cannot support, only to evade responsibility at the decisive moment and cast blame upon others or the situation.

The despicable villain, while committing evil deeds, becomes overwhelmed by the very force of his actions, causing him to pause and hesitate, thereby fostering chaos; the despicable saint exposes their selfishness in moments of crisis while professing goodwill, thereby destroying the trust of relationships and the system. Both are entities lacking the "structural integrity" to support their inner state. To them, good and evil are merely tools to embellish their image or escape suffering.

Ultimately, the true conflict is not the opposition between Good and Evil, but the struggle between "the sublimity of autonomously executing one's values" and "the meanness of being swayed by circumstances and generating disorder."

Conclusion: The Philosophy of the Vessel

We must now shed the remnants of antiquated moralism. Strip away the labels of the content and verify the integrity of the vessel.

If your vessel is small, do not attempt to perform good carelessly. That "altruism" will become a betrayal of others, and the ensuing guilt will drag you further into the swamp of self-loathing and meanness. If you lack the audacity and control to execute evil, do not even dream of it. That incomplete malice will ultimately lead your soul to corruption, and an environment surrounded by enemies on all sides will overwhelm you and plunge you into despair and suffering.

Sublimity does not merely emerge from good intent. It arises from the "total attribution of responsibility"—the willingness to incorporate all ruin and suffering brought about by one's choices into one's own domain. Only those who can meticulously refine their inner state—whether it be good or evil—to create a low-entropy order within the system reside in the realm of the sublime.

Morality is merely a rule of survival created by those without a vessel to turn a blind eye to each other’s cowardice. A true subject does not ask about the good or evil of the system; they only ask whether their vessel can bear the weight.
